Hello all. Today is graduation. CalArts is casting me out in the cruel cruel world and frankly I'm not to pleased with it. Of course, I really have no idea what graduation might look like at a place like CalArts. This is school where nudity is not uncommon and weirdness is expected. One famously bizarre graduation featured fake dismemberment which resulted in the board of trustees getting sprayed with blood and a errant hot air balloon which resulted in the school president hitching a ride back to town from Mojave. Due to a weird twist of fate, my parents are not going to be around to see me garner my fourth degree. Instead, they are hobnobbing Romania. But that's a different story...
A few entries past, I mentioned that my thesis film Beautiful People has been put to sleep like a wall-eyed family dog. Yet not unlike Glenn Close leaping out the bathtub at the end of Fatal Attraction, Beautiful People has come back to life and demanded that I trim five or so minutes from it. Yet, as I have maintained since October, the end is near. Ugh.
And in other news, some guy flipped my off on the highway for my "War Is Terrorism" bumpersticker. I guess that passes for discourse in Bush's America. Speaking of that, I finally listened to Mike Malloy yesterday, who has been described as the left-wings answer to Rush Limbaugh. Only Malloy is smarter, funnier, and not morally bankrupt. Anyway, you can catch his archived shows on the net here, which I highly recommend.
